Callum Lerigo
Callum has experience with telecoms operators and regulators across a wide range of projects – including experience in network sharing, spectrum valuation, and spectrum management.
Callum’s expertise has led to development of site-by-site techno-economic models to forecast network image and synergies/integration costs for two Thai operators, analysing network synergies for a merger between mobile operators in Indonesia including consideration of RAN, transport, and core network cost drivers, and other network sharing/merger analysis across the globe – Australia, Europe, and North America. Several of these assignments have involved the procedures of clean teams, an area in which Callum is now very experienced. Callum has also developed spectrum valuation models and auction support tools to support operators and regulators ahead of 5G awards globally.
Prior to joining Aetha, Callum obtained an M.Sci. from the University of Birmingham, specialising in mathematical biology and mathematical modelling.
Examples of projects which illustrate the breadth of Callum’s experience include:
Assessment of potential network synergies resulting from various network sharing scenarios – using a MOCN or a MORAN, sharing 5G only or 4G and 5G, with all other potential network sharing partners in the same region
Development of integration models for two MNOs, generating a consolidated network grid for assessment of synergies and integration costs
Development of auction tools to support a mobile operator with bid strategy development for a 900MHz and 2100MHz auction
Spectrum valuation ahead of a spectrum award, for our client and competitors, for the 1400MHz, 2100MHz, 2300MHz, 3500MHz, and 26GHz bands
Regulatory cost analysis and benchmarking to support client’s argumentation in ongoing legal disputes concerning the cost structure of its MVNO contract
Developed a site-by-site network consolidation model in order to perform a network synergy analysis for a merger between two MNOs
Valuation of 3.4-3.8GHz spectrum ahead of auction, including a detailed valuation of the technical impact of regional restrictions on different lots in the award
Assessment of the value of current and future spectrum bands available nationwide to determine a fair price for spectrum ahead of the regulator’s consultation
